("Dope Old Army" has a story behind it, known only to that generation.)
Today I am missing the Italian car show at Larz Anderson down in Brookline. Life has its demands and it's too far to drive alone and leave Deb here. Life's tough.
But ..... I did go to the local car gathering, two nights back. Kind of the same old guys and cars, but it got me out of here for an hour or so. I definitely miss the huge "Cars of Summer" shows they once had down in Worcester. The Covid pandemic ended that and it never came back.
Yesterday, I dropped Deb off at a bridal shower, and I drove down to the Botanic Garden on a library pass. The place was packed with families, lots of little kids. Never saw that before. But the place has new ownership and (I think) public funds and they added a bunch of family-friendly grottos and fountains and ponds, so things get hectic I guess.
It wasnt bad, but also very few flowers blooming in midsummer.
So.... long story short.... Beautiful beautiful original paintings in the halls of the building. Chinese watercolors on silk. Museum grade stuff.
Walk past this table with postcards of the paintings.....blah blah blah.... nice girl says "My mother painted these....that's her (pointing to this little lady sitting there)". Blah blah blah ... yes, she is a famous artist touring America. Been doing this since she was a teenybopper. She sees that I am skeptical....."Really.... my mom is the artist...." We talk more, I watch her eyes....jees yeh.... I can believe this. The young lady opens a book on the table and !!! that's her mom !!!
Well... we took a picture together and I bought her book and it is gorgeous. I think that gets my collection of art books to about 50 .... I need a new bookcase !

The one on the left is titanium and plastic.
(Three week checkup went very well.)

Deb's knee is doing great! Her lower back is a big problem. Painful. Ice, heat, vibration massage, advil, tylenol .... X-ray does not show any "damage" which is good.
I am up and down the stairs at least 15 times a day, so my knees are starting to bother me !!!
Montreal trip is 3 weeks away (Deb stays home this one).
I am starting the upgrade process for my cochlear hearing processors. That'll take weeks and some $$$.
Cats are spoiled. Here's Luka in his trance.
Not getting out much, but Deb is progressing very well (her surgery) and not very well (her lower back). Doing phys therapy plus home movements & massage, plus meds. Next week she upgrades to an actual chiropractor who comes highly recommended. We'll see how that goes.
Here's a lovely picture early this morning as I opened the porch. Must give Mother Nature credit for this one, as I found it just as you see it.

Well....life here may be dull but there we see Loretta dropping Jake off at William and Mary College for the new semester.
(Yikes . . . I get older constantly !!!)

Story: a tree grew under our boundary wall and was tearing the beams out of the ground .... Mike came over today with his tools and made that problem go away .....

I just dropped in to tell you there is absolutely nothing going on here.
