August ! ? ...... jees.
Weekly cars at the local ice cream shop are generally the same crowd so the scenery is kind of repetitious, with ocassional outside visitors. Still worth a visit, just 10 minutes from here.
The next car was custom made for American actress
Joanne Woodward.
(Pumped and mopped for just under 5 hours.)
.A long time ago ....
in a swimming pool far, far away ....
Ecosystem & climate stability are inevitable - Earth's bio-system will find its new equilibrium, most likely at the cost of 2/3 of the current human population.
It's not stoppable at this point.
(I was inspired to say that in an internet squabble of clueless, mis-informed smart-ass people who ignore scientists and adore slimeball politicians. )
Now that I brought up the doomsday topic ....

This is a pleasant (!!), sedate, systematic, '50s sci-fi production about the end of planet Earth where very few people (40 actually) are able to escape the doom and migrate to a new world. (The rocket project leaders refer to "other ships being built around the world" but the storyline drops the topic at that sentence.)
This was the 3rd time I've watched it over the years and finally decided to splurge the $10 for a used DVD.
Special effects are sparse but generally well done, up to the very final 60 seconds, when the rocket doors open on the new planet - the scene is VERY obviously hand painted (buy grade school kids?). But then we quickly "fade to black" and leave the theater.

When watching Basil Rathbone / Sherlock Holmes or Lon Chaney / Wolfman movies, the question "Is that Hillary Brooke or Evelyn Ankers?" will ruin the movie as your mind won't let it go.
But rest easy knowing that Evelyn Ankers is on the left, and Hillary Brooke is on the right.

But make no mistake, the pictures below are not Hillary or Evelyn .... they are Debbie !!
