Dave's Journal, Feb2024
Aside from birthdays, death days and anniversaries, it's been a slow, dull month.
I've been into "vintage" DVD's from Ebay and a local flea market. Ordered a 1957 "New Wave" Italian flick and the DVD was (it turned out) not playable in the US (I can't read apparently). Then I thought .... "maybe I can convert it by computer using Handbrake (an excellent program). Well .... yeh Handbrake duplicated it to a computer&tablet playable file. So at least I can watch it on a computer.
The movie is Federico Fellini's "Nights of Cabaria" - hot artsy stuff in 1957 (I was 12).
Here's a short clip, size reduced for the web ....
Weather promised to be nice & we went to Boston. It was nice but windy, slightly chilly. Walked the Charles River, then up Newbury street. Not the Summer crowd, for sure. Drinks and salads at Joe's - cheers for Brother Bob's birthday.
