Waiting in the rain (Mike, shot through a very dirty window) ....

Cars at a small rural show

This car had a very agressive design, so I processed its portrait with some "drama" ...

That handsome couple above were photographed on a very very windy and kind of boring boat cruise around Narragansett Bay.
They imagined gentle breezes and pretty light houses but, as often happens in life, their hopes were dashed against the rocky shores of cruel reality.
Our consolation prize will have to be this postcard picture of a pretty vintage lighthouse on Nantucket ....

Some lighthouses have it worse than others ......

The holly bush outside the window is a meeting place for birds waiting their turn at the feeders. It wasn't always so big but 25 years adds a lot of growth unless you religiously cut it back (which, very obviously, I have not .... but a back yard plan is in the works through Summer and Autumn).
This is, let's call it, "spiritual commentary", and is only here because a profound idea sprang into my head on the porch tonight, while watching that Youtube video up there.
So ......
(1) As a general rule, I do not believe in a "creator God", but I could be wrong and maybe there is one.
(2) I think people believe what they want to believe irregardless of actual, scientific proof, and okay, I can live with that.
(3) Some people believe that God (upper case because that's someone's name) created a perfect world (Eden) for humans and then kicked them out of that pefect world and into this ####hole because the first two humans ate a fruit they were told not to eat. So all the suffering in this world through thousands of generations and billions of people is because 2 people, way back when, ate some fruit.
(4) I have always been "pissed off at God" for handing out this awful punishment on countless billions of people who had nothing to do with the "crime".
Look at that video up there. Look at the many many pictures and videos of beautiful places on Earth. Beautiful forests, birds, fish, flowers, clouds, butterflies, sunsets .....
Now turn on the news .... what a ####ing disaster is this life in the world of people.
So, I've stopped believing that a "creator God" (if there is such a God) kicked us out of the perfect world of Eden because two people ate some fruit. (I am no longer "pissed off at God" for that.)
I believe simply that people just ####ed up the world they created for themselves on this beautiful planet ("Eden" ?). Then they blamed their screwed up world on a hypothetical God and two hypothetical people long ago dead, instead of admitting that they were handed this beautiful world ("Earth") and created a wasteland of stupid, hateful, violent cultures. Like I said, people believe what they want to believe - if they can't face the truth, they just make something up.
But ... to make my point clear ..... God did not kick us out of Eden and I am no longer pissed of at Him (Her? It?)) for doing that.

That's Deb waiting for surgery (to remove a cyst from her spine). Surgery (yesterday) went "very well", said the doctor - "Took a lot of pressure off that nerve". Lots of post-operation instructions for home recovery. At the moment, she is pain-free AND she can feel her toes again!!!
The cyst (arrow) was crushing that nerve. Constantly painful and nothing helped.

Got a new "BlackMist" filter that adds drama by "glowing the highlights" .... I love the effect.
Well it's been a week since surgery and Deb is doing fine, very fine. Pain is gone, except for the ache of the surgery, which is nothing compared to the pain of the spinal cyst. Gotta say she's been strictly following doctor / nurse instructions.
Went out to Tractor Supply / BJs (it's like Costco) / Staples and all went well (I drove). Then swang by Kimball's for ice cream. Sunny, very windy - some of the Friday night classic cars were already lined up (3 hours early !!)
For a good many years past, I loved to fidget with gardening the yard, but for the last 5 or so years, I've not done much fidgeting, and that is about to change this Summer. In fact I have started already by prepping soil (weeding etc) trimming bushes (still a cleanup mess due to the rain) and putting in a few new plants (today, and I am tired).

Not terribly pretty now, but wait 2 years !!
Still have 3 or 4 more to put in nearby, and will get a few more (pictures will come in time) for the next patch over.
But tomorrow I get some MiracleGro fertilized soil to work around each plant and then some fine bark mulch and this patch is done for this year.
I hope I am up for this .... am not the baby boy I was years back. But ----- you gotta keep moving and this is good for that.
Gotta get some knee pads.
