Dave's Journal, May2022
Tux has discovered the health benefits of eating bugs.
None of that canned tuna for him.
Hadn't seen this in decades.
Inherited the DVD from Sister Sally.
Watched it.
Actually enjoyed it.
We were skeptical when he bought that tractor, but it has transformed his property enormously.

Finally got down to check out Emma's apartment. Very nice place that E shares with her long time friend Cassidy, who is a nurse.
We met Winston the cat, who has been sick with a variety of illnesses, and C had to leave work and make a semi-emergency trip to the vet to get him some help. Looks like he will be fine.
Then we met Allison, E's girlfriend, (see the pics) and had lunch at the (very cool) Rosebud cafe near Tufts University. Allison just finished her Master's degree there. She, as you can imagine, is a sweetheart.
Hoopla - free audiobooks from your local library
Reading is good, but listening to someone read it to you is the best. Wired directly into your ear buds is supreme.
Books are lent, via the app, free from your library.
I saw the movie recently, but the audiobook is 100X better. ===>>>
We went for an easily forgettable (IMO) show of Georgia Okeefe's art. Sadly only a few paintings (I love her paintings.). Mostly very small photos (contact prints??) that we not very well produced. Though the good sized ones showed a very talented photographer at work. But not many of those on hand.
Then we went to lunch in Andover (drove by my first house - 1970's). Andover is lovely and lots of $$$ floating around that town.
(doesn't that sound like an artsy 1960's European film ! )
At long last we got to visit Elise in her (relatively) new apartment. Loved the street, loved the apartment. Deb and I decided that we would feel at home, living in a place just like that.
E is .... ummm .... charming .... smart .... very cute.
She is an ICU nurse - the final battlefield for many a life - so add "strong-hearted" to that list.
She drove us across town to lunch at MIDA (their Boston location is in the picture down there.) I ordered stuff I couldn't pronounce except for the word "bolognese", and it was excellent. Also had a glass of Valpolicella that I haven't had since my 1969 days in California.
Back on E's porch (lots of plants) we went on to chat about life and how the world is not working these days or times past. She convinced me to look at "The Story of Dave's Life" on a smaller scale that does not include all of mankind (I always overcomplicate my thinking). So my feelings about that story have already started to improve.
Local Eggs - never thought about it, but homegrown chickens make a variety of colors and shades.
It's a pleasant drive (about 90 minutes west of here.)
(That hole is about 4ft in diameter.)
"Bye now."
