Dave's Journal, Oct2022
Fact: I am in the basement reviewing horror movie clips and actually getting spooked. So I decided to shut down and go upstairs where the scaries can't get to me.
Got up. Looked over and saw Luka and Tux sleeping peacefully in their favorite spots. So I thought "I'm safe. Who would scare my kitties down here".
So here I'll stay.
A very empathetic and realistic (??) view of life as a modern day vampire.
Tilda Swinton and John Hurt - how can you go wrong ??

Yet another costume drama from Hammer, Inc (1958). Excellent production but typical British 1950's acting.
Many of these movies had the scary monster part kicked off by someone doing something totally irrational and stupid and (sadly) these parts were assigned to the female actors. In this case, the pretty, kind hearted young lady you see here had previously loosened the "monster's" bindings and went to get him some soup. Of course he escapes and kills 6 people before (days later) showing up at this party.
I like how everyone just stands there just watching this guy.

She is Death, sister of Dream (aka Morpheus),
who is the "Modern Age" Sandman.
(Not to be confused with the
"Modern Age" Sandman in the Netflix series.)

A bit over the top for the last 10 minutes, but he's not bad, and I love her, so I went along. Overall, a good Halloween movie. (Found a used DVD for $1.99 !!! on Ebay.)
I have yet to see a Halloween costume of everyone's favorite giant creature - MOTHRA !!
