Dave's Journal / Sep 2025

The ancient loose stone wall on Mike's property had it's day and needed desperate attention. Hired this guy (Amanda Construction) to do the job. Well ..... he was basically finished when I got there at 9:45AM !! That morning, he had torn the wall down, backfilled with crushed stone and put every stinking boulder back in place. I was in awe.

A tragedy on every level. Intense performances by John Voight and Dustin Hoffman. This scene is the most pathetic.

Haven't been to this since '22, and today was a perfect weather day so off we went.
Her back was "so-so" today and Deb actually sat in the shade while I wandered about, drooling over some of the vintage bikes and taking pictures.
The owners here are guys 60+ years old, so I felt at home.
Bikes were group by "German" , "Finnland", etc. My favorites (always have been) are the British bikes - BSA, Norton, Royal Enfield .... and the Brits were right there at the entrance.
There was even a "restored" BSA 650 Thunderbolt . I owned one back in the '70s and I forgave the guy who owned this one for painting it a non-standard gray-blue (why would you do that?). Anyway it's in one of these pictures here.

Loretta has two new chickens ! (Beatrice and Josephine)

Mike is dreaming about a new tractor (this one is not his)....

Catherine and Loretta slipped off to a retreat for a few days .....

(Deb is out "having her nails done" and I am on the porch watching Youtube videos !!! )
